AFM Procedure

[AFM, §03-13-10]

Corrective Action

  1. Altitude . . . 5000 feet AGL minimum

  2. LANDING GEAR . . . DOWN
  3. CAUTION

CREW SHOULD BE PREPARED TO STOP FLAP MOVEMENT IF AIRPLANE RESPONSE BECOMES OBJECTIONABLE.

  4. FLAPS . . . As required for safe landing with optimum control

  5. If the available YAW trim is insufficient:
  6. a. POWER LEVERS . . . Use asymmetric thrust (as required)

  7. Airspeed . . . Decrease until control becomes marginal or a minimum of VREF

  8. Simulated Approach, Flare, and Go-Around . . . Perform (5000 feet AGL minimum)
  9. CAUTION

IF LANDING CONTROLLABILITY CHECK REVEALS SIGNIFICANT AFT CONTROL STICK FORCES ARE REQUIRED FOR APPROACH AND LANDING, DELAY SPEED REDUCTION / FLAP SETTING TO MINIMIZE DURATION OF HIGH CONTROL FORCES.

  10. Airspeed . . . Determine appropriate approach airspeed not less than VREF
