System Impacts

  • Autopilot Backdrive: Not available (autopilot remains available).
  • Roll Trim Backdrive: Not available (roll trim remains available).
  • Sidesticks: Both sidesticks will be incapable of active cross-linking, and 1. In flight the affected passive sidestick(s) will be incapable of active “feel” gradients.
  • Stick Shaker: Not available.

Corrective Action

  2. CAUTION

    IN FCS NORMAL MODE, FAILURE TO MAINTAIN THE AIRPLANE IN A TRIMMED FLIGHT CONDITION IN PITCH MAY RESULT IN PARTIAL LOSS OF NOSE-UP OR NOSEDOWN PITCH CONTROL AUTHORITY. IF AVAILABLE, THE SIDESTICK PITCH TRIM SWITCH OR AP DISC / TRIM RESET PUSH BUTTON MAY BE USED TO EFFECTIVELY MAINTAIN A TRIMMED FLIGHT CONDITION.

    NOTE

    Each flight crew will not “feel” the sidestick inputs being made by the other the flight crew member. Pilot recognition will rely on an unexpected airplane response and / or alerting by the Dual Stick Input (caution) CAS message.

    This may result in less than optimal handling qualities, particularly during high speed cruise flight and low speed approach and landing.

    a. Pilot Flying . . . Positively identify pilot flying, and subsequent control transfers

    b. PITCH TRIM . . . Maintain trimmed flight condition

    c. Autopilot . . . Off

    d. FLT CTRL RESET . . . PRESS and RELEASE

    e. If the CAS message remains displayed:

    (1) Flight . . . Continue

    NOTE

    The sidesticks may display less than optimal handling qualities, particularly during high speed cruise flight and low speed approach and landing.

    (2) Normal Approach and Landing . . . Perform

  3. On Ground

  4. a. FLT CTRL . . . RESET PRESS and RELEASE

    b. If the CAS message is displayed:

    (1) Airplane . . . Do not dispatch

    c. If the CAS message is no longer displayed, and if both sidesticks are operational:

    (1) FCS Test . . . Perform

    d. If the FCS and Sidestick related CAS messages are no longer displayed following the FCS Test:

    (1) Flight . . . Continue
