AFM Procedure

[AFM, §03-13-60]

Possible Cause

One or more of the EBHAs has reverted to electrical-backup mode due to hydraulic or REU failure.

DISPLAYED CAS AND CA MESSAGES: FCS Actuator EB Mode (U) (caution)

NON-DISPLAYED CA: FCS No Dispatch (caution) and FCS No Dispatch (advisory)

System Impacts

Indicated Flight Control Surface: Operating in electrical-backup mode with operating time constraints if normal operation is not restored.

Corrective Action

NOTE

  1. If the CAS message is associated with a hydraulic failure that occurred within 2 hours of takeoff:
  2. WARNING

    IF THE HYDRAULIC FAILURE OCCURS WITHIN 2 HOURS OF TAKEOFF, THE AIRPLANE MUST LAND WITHIN 4 HOURS TO PREVENT POSSIBLE FAILURE OF A FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACE.

    a. Airspeed . . . 285 KCAS / 0.90M maximum

    b. Airplane . . . Land at nearest suitable airport

  3. If the CAS message is not associated with a hydraulic failure:
  4. a. Autopilot . . . As required

    b. FCS BATTERIES . . . Monitor condition

    c. FCS Synoptic . . . Check

    d. Verify aircraft response to control inputs of affected control surface.

    e. If the aircraft does not respond to control inputs:

    (1) Refer to:

    03-13-80, Left / Right Aileron Failure, or

    03-13-140, Spoiler Panel Failure, or

    03-13-90, Left / Right Elevator Failure, or

    03-13-120, Rudder Failure
