AFM Procedure

Possible Cause

Bleed air temperature exceeds temperature limits.

System Impacts

  • Auto mode of WAI is prohibited.

  • Maximum Altitude for Wing Anti-Ice is 32,000 feet.

  • Maximum Altitude for Single Pack Operations is 48,000 feet.

  • Maximum Airspeed for wing anti-ice operations is 0.85M.

  • Wing anti-ice operation is restricted to single ECS pack operations.

Corrective Action

  1. ENG BLEED AIR (Affected Side) . . . OFF

  2. ECS Pack (Affected Engine) . . . OFF

  3. ECS / PRESS Synoptic Page . . . Select

  4. When the CAS message is no longer displayed, and two pack operation desired:

    1. Isolation Valve . . . Open (Depressed)

    2. ECS Pack (Affected Engine) . . . ON

    3. Dual ECS Pack Operation. . . Monitor

    4. If the operating BAS displays abnormal indications:

    5. (1) Consider operation in a single ECS pack configuration to stabilize the BAS system.

  5. WAI . . . Deselect Auto

  6. If Wing Anti-Ice is required:

    1. Altitude . . . Descend below 32,000 feet

    2. Airspeed . . . 0.85M maximum

    3. ECS Pack (Affected Engine) . . . OFF

    4. Isolation Valve . . . Closed (Out)

    5. CAUTION

      WAI MUST BE ACTIVATED AND REACH AN OPERATING TEMPERATURE GREATER THAN 100°F PRIOR TO ENTRY INTO ICING CONDITIONS.

    6. WAI . . . ON

    7. ECS System . . . Monitor
