One of the worst techniques I've seen for landing a jet involes "chopping" the throttles at a few hundred feet, allowing the pilot to use both hands on the yoke for the flare. It usually ends up with a landing well short of the touchdown zone and well below the target touchdown speed. Every now and then it ends up hurting the airplane. I was a spectator for this example, guilty of thinking, "I guess this might work out." I should have sent the pilot around. This video is cited here: Autothrottle Landing.
