When we were first trained to fly the Gulfstream GVII, we were told it was impossible to build a visual approach into the Flight Management System. There were a few techniques out there that came close, but didn't give us what we want: lateral and vertical guidance to the touchdown zone of the runway. It took a while, but we finally got one.
