We shot this video with the aim of diagnosing an autothrottle problem we were having. The problem didn't happen on this flight, so I put the video away and didn't give it another thought until someone asked about the need to add gust factors to our approach speed. I looked back at this video and noticed how much our airspeed was bouncing around and if we didn't have the additive, we would have been in what is called the "low speed awareness" band and that would be bad.
